Winter trees
A break in the weather allowed a visit to the Park today. I began this drawing in pale sunlight which quickly turned to November grey chill which made a trip to the cafe for warm soup essential!

Last week I was able to go into Hotham Park to sketch several times but this week has been a very different story with wind and rain making sitting out with pastels and paper a non option. I know when I go to the Park next it will almost be dressed for winter and though…
This morning was bright so I went to the park to sketch again. I took a lot of photos of autumn leaves and then setteled down to do this. I never seem to have quite the right colours in my box but its quite good to be forced to improvise .
A few days ago this tree was awash with golden yellow leaves but the recent winds have stripped all but a few off leaving it looking stark among the surrounding shrubs.
