Another golden day in the park

This morning I had all sorts of plans to catch up on housework, finish some illustrations  and move my geraniums to the garage for  the winter but when my husband suggested it was a warm sunny day and so  ideal for sketching in the park it didn’t take much arm twisting for me to hop…

More pastels

Earlier I posted some pastels I had done whilst in the Park and here are three more of Autumn plants and the colours in the Winter Garden. The Agapanthus will soon go to ground and the Gunnera looks spectacular in its collapsing state. Its hard to believe that those huge leaves will grow again in…

All done and dusted

In my last post I was stressing about mounting a one night exhibition of my Hotham Park paintings in the Hotham Cafe. Everything went so well that we had half an hour to spare thanks to the help I had form the cafe proprietor and staff. We welcomed the Mayor of Bognor Regis and chairman…

Today is the day…

Today is the day I will, for one night only, be exhibiting my  park paintings in the Hotham Park Cafe. It’s going to be a bit of a scramble to do it all in one and a half hours but as much forward prep has been done as  possible and I will be posting some…

Getting ready for the show

I arrived about half an hour early for the meeting in the cafe so wandered into the Mediterranean garden to do this quick sketch of the ravishing autumn colours which were so intense…

Cafe Exhibition

On Monday 24th I will be showing my work for the Park in the Cafe there. It’s not an easy venue to mount an exhibition but I’ll do my best to put on a good show. If you are around that evening from 6.30 it would be great to see you as well as my invited…

Playing with pastels

I have recently bought a new  muli-media A3 sketch pad which is a soft brown colour and so far I like  it very much. I have been trying out pastels and today I did three quick studies in the park. Here they are along with  one I did earlier this week.
