The park is noisy with the shouting of children as its school holidays but they cannot hope to compete with the tree top congregation of crows and rooks.

Love mist, it makes everything so magical. I like the silence it creates and the way it makes the familiar look new and different. Then there is the way it softens everything and gives you the sense that you are alone in your own little world.
I love the wild corners of Hotham Park. This is a lovely sunny place in the wildlife conservation area. The late summer colours are glorious with yellow ragwort, seeded docks and teasels. This is painted acrylic on a 70 x 70cm fine cotton box canvas.
At college many years ago I was taught that anything could be seen as interesting or beautiful and that we should keep our eyes open all the time to the things around us. Yesterday the sun tempted me to venture into the Park where I sat to do 2 sketches and then retired to the cafe for coffee and lovely apple cake. Although it was cold there were signs of early spring everywhere. Tomorrow I will post my drawings but today the Parks’ spring jewels.
