Goings on in the Park

I have been so busy with finishing commissions and doing things related to Cloudhopper Gallery that I have not been in the Park much lately but when I did get there on a sunny Saturday in March I snapped these runners, part of a weekly run which takes place there.

Thistle patch, stage 1

I decided to abandon the last painting I posted on my blog and covered  it with blue tinted primer to be reborn as something else. It will form part of a trio of works  inspired by a patch of thistles in Hotham Park.Here is the first stage of one of them.  

New Cafe

As I walked through the park recently I noticed that work on the new Cafe has now begun in earnest.

Loose ends

Now that my year as artist for Hotham Park is over I will not be posting on this blog quite as much as I have been. I will still be in the Park from time to time and will post photos and drawings I do then. This blog was a way of keeping in touch…

New Cafe at the Park

The construction of the long awaited new all season Cafe at Hotham Park has begun, thought I do regret the loss of a stand of willows lost from the winter garden. I guess willows can be planted elsewhere to give winter colour.

Walk in the park paintings on show.

After all the hard work finishing enough paintings to fill Cloudhopper Gallery  and getting them hung on the walls the days I’m spending in the gallery seem very calm. A few more visitors would be nice but there are some who come each day and I’m running two drawing classes each week which are good…
