Autumn brings such a glorious untidy tangle to the garden and Hotham Park rose garden is a colourful mess of remnants of summer glory. Fortified with excellant coffee and muffin from the lovely new cafe I sat for a happy hour trying to catch this with pastels. The result ? Well it does help if you don’t think of a dog’s dinner first but at least I enjoyed myself and will store it all up to bring out later when the days get darker. There comes a point with pastels when you really have to stop and remember that this is only a sketch.
